"The Benefactors" Kneeler Project at Tewkesbury Abbey is a project to beautify the Abbey and at the same time record the great medieval families and their supporters, who through their generosity built and supported the monastic foundation and the great Abbey building which remains. When finished this Canvas Work kneeler will stretch 24-feet across the centre of the Abbey. It incorporates 32 shields bearing the Arms of these great families. We invite you to visit and, if you like, add a few stitches before the kneeler is finished: this will be in the next few months.
