[What is Girlguiding] [Guiding in Action] [County Information] [Divisions] [ Centenary] [Go!] [Activity Ideas] [Guestbook] [Gloucestershire Login Page] [Home] [AGM Pictures] [Annual Report 2009] [County Commissioner's Letter] [County Standard] [County HQ at Cowley] A Message from the County Commissioner I really feel we are well into the Centenary now, having celebrated with 600 Brownies in the Forest of Dean. We had a fabulous day, for those of you who weren’t able or eligible to attend, with happy, busy Brownies and the sun as golden and gorgeous as the day was! We also had a brilliant day at the AGM at Slimbridge, although the sun wasn’t quite so kind to us that evening. It was lovely to see so many Guiders there as well as our County VIPs whether from within Guiding or outside. It stayed dry for Friends Day as well, and it was good to catch up with old friends at our Headquarters. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make the day such a success. We are also busy making plans for our VISION event, 20:10 20/10 2010 at Cheltenham Racecourse. There is going to be room for every Rainbow, Brownie and Guide – and their leaders, and we are going to soon be asking for you all to book your coach journeys so please start talking to the girls about this once in a lifetime event. Your Commissioners have more details of what will happen during the evening if you aren’t sure. This month will be the turn of the Guides with a Crystal Challenge Day at Ribston Hall School in Gloucester. I’m not absolutely sure what the day entails, so I am looking forward to a surprise event as well!! Finally another advance warning of something to put in your diaries …. County Day this year will take the form of an Arts Dabble Day with FOUR activity sessions to book into, so you’ll be able to indulge yourself as well as pick up ideas to use in your Units. The date is Saturday 9th October and the venue will be a school in Forest North (probably Newent). I hope you all have a great half-term and manage to enjoy some of the lovely weather we are currently having, though I dare say that by the time you read this our ‘summer’ will be over!!
