Opportunities for 2010

Do you fancy working on the media team for the Girlguiding UK Centenary Camp in 2010?

Applications are now open for the Senior Section Media Team at the camp, which will be at Harewood House, near Leeds in Yorkshire, from 31st July to 7th August, 2010.

For more information, look on the Centenary Camp section of the Girlguiding UK Centenary website. Click on Centenary Camp and go down to Volunteer on the Service team.

You can also email the team at centenarycamppr@girlguiding.org.uk

2010 AND THEN – January 2011 – If you have not already booked your place for this then please do so asap. It looks to be a brilliant weekend, and it is YOUR opportunity to shape the way things happen in Guiding for the next 100 years. Application forms were in the April Newsletter, but if you have not received one, please let me know and I will forward one to you. Places are limited, so to avoid disappointment, send your application in early.

EXTENDED DEADLINE - there is still time to get your forms in to attend '2010 and then' in Brixham in January. This event is open to everyone aged 14 to 26, regardless of Guiding role - from Guides, through Rangers, Young Leaders and Young Guiders - all are welcome!
Please send your forms and payment through as soon as possible.

BALLYHOO – What a fun evening we had. It was well supported from right across the County, with lots of new faces. There were several people with cameras on the evening, so if you have any photos you would like to share, please forward them (via email if you like) to me.

PR BOARDS – I’m not sure if everyone is aware, but we have Senior Section PR / Display Boards for use at events. If you are holding an event for Senior Section, or perhaps would like to display information and photos about Senior Section, then please contact me to arrange to collect them. Pauline Merchant (County PR Adviser) is excellent at putting these boards together, and given the information of your event, would help to make the best use of the boards. This is where we need a constant supply of changing photos, to ensure the boards always have a fresh look about them.

If you require any help or information relating to Senior Section – please contact as below.

Young Leader Qualification – Don’t forget to start your YLs on this qualification if they are ready for it.  If you require information about the Young Leader Qualification, please contact either Helen Brereton (Young Leader Adviser – 07976 915098 - helenbrereton@hotmail.co.uk ) or myself.

Photos - We are still looking for photos of Senior Section activities, to keep the County boards with a fresh look every time they are used. The idea of having a photo disc of Senior Section activities has also been suggested. We need a selection of photos from across County to make it work though.

Contact - Jan or Rachel Chick for information on any of the above – 01452 520672 (evenings only please) or send photos to gloucestershireseniorsection@gmail.com
